I was just thinking there are many different terms used to describe nerds. What do you think the differences are between the different terms if any?

In my opinion a nerd is someone who has any type of “obsession” that usually causes them to stay indoors for most of the day.
A geek is a specific type of nerd. Geeks are also commonly known as computer nerds and may often be hackers or digital pirates on the side. Thus all nerds wouldn’t necessarily be considered geeks but all geeks would all be considered nerds.
Dorks are often mistaken for nerds, but just because someone is a dork doesn’t automatically make them a nerd. The dork can be identified as a plain ol’ goofy person. They don’t necessarily have an obsession like nerds do but because of their awkwardness they tend to have a hard time making friends. As a result they very often become nerds themselves or become close friends with nerds.
