CALPICO and Milkis Comparison Review

4:34 pm in Asian Food, Featured, Junk Food, Nerdy Foods by CandyMan

This is me compairing/rating both CALPICO and Milkis. I was told that Milkis is the knock off of CALPICO witch in this video I would have to agree they’re both the same color plus the taste is kind of the same. However the CALPICO has more of a orange flaver thats very mild where as the Milkis has a very fruity flavor as well but its not orange. I couldn’t place it but they are both very good and I rate them a 9/10. One thing I forgot to say in the video was that I liked Milkis better.

Chow Noodles Cheddar Cheese Flavor

2:08 pm in Asian Food, Nerdy Foods by Nerd Girl

Nerdy Rating: 4/10

I recently went shopping and found myself in the Ramen isle. But I wasn’t in the mood for the ordinary chicken, beef, or pork flavors. I was craving something new and unusual. So began, my valiant quest for something new and interesting, yet still in the ramen family. To my surprise, I found Chow Noodles Cheddar Cheese flavor. Wow! I thought.  Ramen with cheese already in it! I love Ramen… and I love cheddar cheese… it will be GREAT! I couldn’t wait to try it so I took it to work with me that very night. Well… lets just say this doesn’t have a happy ever after ending. It turned out tasting pretty disgusting, the combination just was not good. The noodles themselves were good, as was the cheese sauce but it was the combination of the two that did not blend well. I all most went and got me a PB&J from the fridge and that is saying something. Work’s PB&J is always hard, nasty and soggy in the middle but it was all most better than this. To end the story. Yes. I ate it. Was it good? No. Would I buy it again? No way. Would I recommend buying it? NOPE. Unless you just spit in my bean curd, then I would say go for it. :)

Japanese candy: Botan Rice candy

8:17 pm in Asian Food, Junk Food, Nerdy Foods by Nerd Girl

Nerdy raing 10/10

I bought this when we were on our honeymoon in Denver CO. I found it in the Colorado mills mall, being form a hick town in the middle of the USA I had to shop while there. I went into any Asian stores that I could find and found this candy I thought it looked interesting so why not try it? As a bonus I received a free sticker inside lets face it Nerds who does not like free stuff?

The candy is a soft chew that comes in a plastic wrapper and a inner edible wrapper that melts in your mouth so you don’t git your hands sticky. The texture is a soft gummy.  The taste is out of this world the candy has the perfect amount of sweetness with just a little tang of citrus. At .75 for a box  it is a good buy and I find myself wishing I had bought more. I highly recommend trying this candy your mouth will thank you.

Japanese soft drink : Ramune’

8:16 pm in Asian Food, Junk Food, Nerdy Foods by Nerd Girl

Nerdy rating 10/10

Ramune (ラムネ) is romaji for soda,or pop depending where you are from it is not a name brand in its self, though it is usually associated with the glass bottle and the marble. Though they do make it with out the glass or the marble.

I chose Strawberry flavor to talk about since it is my favorite flavor. The Strawberry is the best out of any pop I have ever had including crush. The flaver is mild not in your face at all it is just all a round refreshing to drink and I git one every time I see one it goes great with Strawberry Pocky or Botan Rice candy since the flavors blend well. If you are not a Strawberry lover the have many flavors to try. I have liked all the different flavors that I have tried.

The only difficult part about the drink is opening the bottle first you must peel the outer plastic off then remove the plastic top in the middle you will find your opener in the middle of the plastic. Remove that from the other plastic  it will resemble a little table. You will see the marble at the top of the bottle put bottom of table on the marble and press down firmly don’t  let go once marble has dropped wait until it has stopped foaming or you will have a geyser of soda, after all that enjoy! The marble adds a extra fuzziness to it that is nice. When you are done enjoying your soda you can remove the marble and play with it if you so desire. Though they do not recommend it as it can cause injury so if you do be careful!!! play at your own risk!!!

price $2.99 expensive yes, but well worth it.
