Punch Out has always been a favorite amongst hardcore gamers. The New One is no exception with its lightning fast moves. You really have to be hardcore to beat this game. After just a couple nights of playing this game I was like why do my arms feel like they been lifting weights. Then the next day I turn back on the Wii to play some more Punch Out after the first few hits I realized that it was the game that was making my arms hurt so badly. This game will wear you out no joke. There is also an option to play it like the classic game you just play with the Wii controller sideways but I don’t think it’s as fun that way.
Gameplay wise it’s a lot like the original. All of the original characters and some annoying new ones. It’s really hard to time your hits you have a split-second to figure out what you’re going to do the options are to dodge right, left or duck and you better pick the right one. Punches you have right and left upper and lower punches and your star punch your most powerful hit.
The graphics were good, but could have been a lot better. They were in my opinion quite choppy. Seriously they could have done better for a game like Punch Out a game that is in most people’s top ten list for old retro games. The intro movie for each character you’re going to fight is also quiet cheesy. Overall really good gameplay, but sort of disappointed when it come to the graphics and intro movies for the characters should have been a lot better considering this is one of the best retro games ever. You would just think they just would have tried harder.

you make me wan to break down and buy a wii so i can play it, sounds fun and would help me workout.
I enjoyed this game for its nostalgia and cheesy attitude. In my opinion, the more cartoony the game, the better.
I completely agree Dave. I love the cartoony-ness of it. Thats what makes this game remake better than the original. The originality of the characters in the classic game is what made it awesome and I love that they came up with new funny opponents. The cheesy cartoony opponent intro’s also give you well deserved breaks. This game really takes it out of you.
